Lace up your walking shoes and join Gwinnett Solicitor General Lisamarie N. Bristol in the fight against domestic violence.

The Gwinnett County Solicitor’s Office will hold its second annual Dash 4 Domestic Violence Awareness 5K on Saturday, October 5 at 8:00am at Alexander Park, located at 955 Scenic Highway in Lawrenceville. Registration is $30.00 per participant. This rate will increase to $35.00 after September 13.

Participants can support the cause by walking, jogging, running, or sponsoring the event. Proceeds from the 5K will go to three domestic violence organizations that provide essential resources to survivors and education to the public: Mosaic Georgia, Partnership Against Domestic Violence and Ahimsa House.

Domestic violence is a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain power and control over another intimate partner. Over their lifetime, 1 in 5 women and 1 in 7 men experience severe physical violence by an intimate partner. The Solicitor’s Office wants to change these statistics by educating and connecting the community to valuable resources.
