This privacy statement addresses the collection, use, disclosure, and security of information that may be obtained by Gwinnett County when you visit the www.gwinnettcounty.com website.

Information Collection and Use

Gwinnett County Government is the sole owner of the information collected on www.gwinnettcounty.com website. Gwinnett County uses Analytics to capture information about the effectiveness of www.gwinnettcounty.com. Upon visiting www.gwinnettcounty.com, the County may collect some or all of the following information:

  • The name of your domain: for example, “xyzcompany.com” if you use a private Internet access account;
  • An IP address, which is a number automatically assigned to your computer when you are using the Internet;
  • The type of browser, operating system, and device used to access this site;
  • The Internet address of the Web site from which you linked directly to the site;

Other information volunteered, such as vendor profile/contact information, survey information, or content of e-mail.

This information collected, whether or not personally identifiable, is not limited to text characters and may also include audio, video, and other graphic formats that you send the County. Any information that is retained is used in accordance with existing laws, rules, regulations, and other policies. 


Access to Information

Depending on the question, service request, or transaction initiated by you, Gwinnett County may share your personally identifiable information amongst its departments. As a general rule, Gwinnett County will not disclose any personally identifiable information collected online to entities outside of Gwinnett County departments and agencies except: (1) where you have given your permission; (2) where the information is considered public information under the Georgia Open Records Act O.C.G.A. § 50-18-70 et. seq., or other applicable laws; (3) where required to do so by other operation of law. Visitors should be aware that information collected through the portal may be subject to examination and inspection, if such information is a public record and not otherwise protected from disclosure. 

Personalization

At your option, you may voluntarily provide certain identifiable information in order to customize your visits to www.gwinnettcounty.com. To personalize your www.gwinnettcounty.com experience you will be required to register and create an online profile. Information required during the registration process will include a user name (which need not be your legal name), a password, and a valid e-mail address. Information is encrypted from your computer to the Portal computer processing your request.
