Celebrating Hispanic Latino Heritage Month

Experience Hispanic arts and culture at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center
In recognition of 2024 Hispanic Latino Heritage Month, an exhibit honoring the Hispanic and Latino community will be open to the public from September 15 to October 15 in the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center Atrium.
Each year, Americans observe National Hispanic Heritage Month by celebrating the traditions and contributions of residents whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. The observation started in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period starting on September 15.
The “Hispanic Latino Heritage Month Exhibit” is open during regular business hours and located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville.
Gwinnett residents are also invited to “Fiesta on the Plaza”, a festive celebration on Tuesday, October 15 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center Plaza. Get ready to dance to live mariachi, savor delicious eats from local food trucks, and enjoy activities for all ages.
The first 150 registrants will receive a free food sample from food truck vendors. We strongly recommend those interested in attending to RSVP here: GwinnettCounty.com/FiestaonthePlaza.
