Radon is a radioactive gas that is invisible, tasteless, and odorless, but it may be a problem in your home. Breathing the radioactive particles produced by radon is a major cause of lung cancer among non-smokers.
Testing is the only way to know if your home contains radon. Inexpensive, do-it-yourself test kits are available at home improvement stores. Free test kits are available from the County Extension Service.
For more information, contact the Extension Radon Specialist at 678.377.4010 or Ines.Beltran@gwinnettcounty.com, or visit the radon education website at county.ces.uga.edu/gwinnett/FCS/radon.htm
