TWO ARRESTED FOR FELONY CHARGES AFTER ROAD RAGE INCIDENT

The Gwinnett County Police Department arrested two suspects in connection with a road rage incident that escalated into a shooting.

On November 25, officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to a local area hospital in reference to a person shot. While interviewing multiple parties at the hospital, officers determined the incident took place in the parking lot of 3466 Holcomb Bridge Road in Peachtree Corners. Detectives were called to the scene and began collecting evidence and conducting interviews. Security footage at the incident location revealed that the incident began when a white BMW engaged in a dispute with another vehicle in the parking lot. The drivers of the two vehicles exchanged flashes of headlights before the suspects exited their vehicle and approached the other car.

A physical altercation ensued between the occupants of both vehicles, resulting in one person being shot by the male suspect. Using various investigative techniques, detectives were able to identify the two suspects: Paola Nicole Cruz Pena (age 21, Riverdale) and David Jesus Ravelo Cedeno (age 25, Riverdale). Detectives located the suspect vehicle in Riverdale, where the suspects were apprehended without incident. Pena is charged with aggravated assault, tampering with evidence, and battery. Cedeno is charged with three counts of aggravated assault, aggravated battery, possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, tampering with evidence, unauthorized discharge of a firearm within 50 yards of a public roadway, discharging a firearm while under the influence of alcohol or drugs and reckless conduct. Both suspects are currently being held at the Gwinnett County Jail.
