Effective July 1, 2010, residents in unincorporated Gwinnett County are part of a new garbage and recycling program. City residents are not affected by this new plan. Gwinnett County has contracted with five private haulers and each serve a designated area of unincorporated Gwinnett. The new plan delivers efficient and cost-effective solid waste service, expanded recycling opportunities, and less truck traffic on neighborhood streets.
