Licensing and Revenue Board of Appeals
The Licensing and Revenue Board of Appeals consist of five (5) members and determines all issues by a majority vote. The Board shall select one (1) of its members as Chairperson. Should the Licensing and Revenue Board of Appeals be unable to reach a decision by majority vote, the action taken by the Licensing and Revenue Manager shall be upheld automatically. Any three (3) members constitute a quorum.
The members shall be the Director of the Gwinnett County Planning and Development Department or his designated staff member, the Director of the Gwinnett County Board of Health or his designated staff member, a member of the Gwinnett County Visitors and Convention Bureau to be named by that organization, a resident of Gwinnett County appointed by the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners, and a resident of Gwinnett County to be named by the Gwinnett County Grand Jury. The last three (3) members shall be named by the respective organizations immediately to a two-year term. Each second year thereafter these organizations shall appoint their member at any time during the year provided that members shall serve until their successor is named.
The members of the Licensing and Revenue Board of Appeals who are county employees shall not receive additional compensation for their service on that Board. Non-county employees on the Licensing and Revenue Board of Appeals shall be compensated seventy five dollars ($75.00) per day for their services.
