(Gwinnett County, Ga., February 17, 2023) – The Gwinnett Metro Taskforce (GMTF) is governed by the Board of Directors who are comprised of the Commanding Officials of the following agencies:

Auburn Police Department

Duluth Police Department

Gwinnett County Sheriff's Office

Lawrenceville Police Department

Lilburn Police Department

Norcross Police Department

Snellville Police Department

Suwanee Police Department

The Board of Directors approve the finances and overall strategy of the Gwinnett Metro Taskforce.

By board approval, the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office manages the Gwinnett Metro Taskforce’s daily field operations, including investigations, warrant applications, arrests, and warrant services.

Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Chief Cleo Atwater confirmed that on February 9, 2023, the Gwinnett Metro Taskforce served a search warrant at a residential address in Norcross. We are aware of the citizen’s complaint regarding the allegations that the Gwinnett Metro Taskforce wrongfully targeted the residence. As with all active investigations, specific details will not be released at this time.

Therefore, any alleged or suspected misconduct by the Sheriff’s Office personnel and/or Gwinnett County Metro Taskforce will be thoroughly investigated, and properly adjudicated to assure the maintenance of these qualities.”
