GWINNETT OFFICIALS BREAK GROUND ON THE ONESTOP CENTERVILLE EXPANSION

(Lawrenceville, Ga., June 29, 2023) – Gwinnett County officials broke ground on the expansion of OneStop Centerville. The community resource center in southern Gwinnett will enhance access to services and resources for residents in the area.

The development combines the Centerville Senior Center and Centerville Branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library and offers a variety of community spaces for events, workshops, classes and other activities.

Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson emphasized the positive impact the facility will have on Centerville residents and surrounding communities.

“With this expansion, we will enhance coordination and accessibility to community-based resources, as well as resources from local, state and federal governments,” said Hendrickson. “Our goal is to ensure our residents receive timely assistance without unnecessary hurdles.”

Once completed, the multilevel building will span 33,000 square feet. In addition to its existing services, partner organizations including GNR Health, View Point Health and Ninth District Head Start will be housed there. These partnerships will enable the delivery of crucial programs in public health, early learning, mental health and family services.

“Each of these partners plays a vital role in fostering the well-being of individuals and building a healthy community,” said District 2 Commissioner Ben Ku. “Gwinnett County is committed to the ongoing development of quality services, programming and resource support throughout the county.”

The County is using a $25 million allocation of federal American Rescue Plan Act funding for the expansion, along with its initial operations.
