GWINNETT BREAKS GROUND ON COMMUNITY RESOURCE CENTER
(Lawrenceville, Ga., March 11, 2025) – Today, Gwinnett County officials broke ground on the Gwinnett Community Resource Center at Grayson Highway.
Designed to meet the growing needs of the community, the three-story, 84,232-square-foot facility will offer a variety of services, including mental and behavioral health support, social services navigation and workforce development.
In partnership with View Point Health, the center will be home to the County’s first inpatient stabilization unit with 30 beds, providing 24/7 access to care for individuals in crisis. Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson highlighted the relief these resources will bring to the community.
“Too many people struggle in silence, unable to find the help they desperately need. My hope is that this addition to our health and human services network will propel us into a new era of community well-being,” said Gwinnett County Chairwoman Nicole Love Hendrickson. “The urgent need for accessible, quality mental health services has never been greater.”
Other mental health services include a temporary observation day center offering short-term stabilization for up to 15 individuals and an outpatient clinic delivering ongoing mental and behavioral health support.
“For too long, we've seen the impact of untreated mental health challenges around the country and the world,” added District 3 Commissioner Jasper Watkins III, a retired Army Lt. Colonel and member of the View Point Health Board. “This Gwinnett Community Resource Center is a game-changer for my district and the entire county, providing intentional care and support to people of all ages.”
As the central location for Gwinnett County’s OneStop 4 Help initiative, the center will also connect residents to additional services. A dedicated Community Navigator space will help individuals access housing, food assistance, employment support and other essential resources.
To support working families, the center will also house a Child Development Center, offering high-quality childcare and early education programs in a safe and nurturing environment.
Operated in partnership with Disabled American Veterans Chapter 90, a Veteran and Family Services office will provide specialized assistance to veterans and their families.
Multipurpose community rooms in the facility will host workforce development programs, training sessions and serving as a warming station during inclement weather.
Funded through the American Rescue Plan Act, the $46 million project is designed by TSW Design and constructed by Reeves Young LLC.
This state-of-the-art center will be located at 1040 Grayson Highway in Lawrenceville.
