(SNELLVILLE, Ga., June 8, 2024) – Just before 7:30 p.m. Officers assigned to the South Precinct responded to a person shot call on the 3541 Stone Mountain Hwy. Upon arrival officers were notified that the suspect was still on scene and being subdued by witnesses. Officers took the suspect into custody. Officers also located one female suffering from a gunshot wound. She was pronounced deceased on scene.  

Preliminary investigation indicates this was a domestic related incident. Detectives are canvassing the area for witnesses and investigating the motive for the shooting. The Crime Scene Unit is processing the scene. The suspect is being interviewed at Gwinnett County Police Headquarters at this time.

The name of the deceased will be released after next of kin have been notified.
