Update #1: The victim has been identified as Christine Walker (64 years old) from Lilburn.  Walker was asleep in a hotel room when someone fired into the room.  Walker was struck by at least one of the rounds, killing her.  Detectives are asking for any possible witnesses who may have seen anyone in the area or heard anything to contact them with information.

Original: (Lilburn, Ga., February 22, 2022) – Gwinnett County Police detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred at the InTown Suites on Stone Mountain Hwy. South Precinct officers responded to a “Person Shot” call at about 4:30 am. When officers arrived, they located a female inside a room suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Paramedics arrived shortly after police, but unfortunately, the female was deceased.

Homicide detectives are currently investigating, and the Crime Scene Unit is processing the scene.  Detectives are still working on the timeline of events that led up to the homicide.
