UPDATE #1: HOMICIDE HARBOR BAY DR
Update #1: The suspect has been identified as Bernie Mack (61 years old, Lawrenceville). Bernie is charged with Malice Murder, 2x Felony Murder, 2x Aggravated Assault and 2x Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of a Crime. The victims have been identified as Bridget Mack (61 years old, Lawrenceville) and Jeremy Santos (36 years old, Lawrenceville).
Bridget’s daughter, Briana, and her husband Jeremy went to Bridget’s house to check on her after she failed to arrive at Briana’s house. They found Bridget deceased from a gunshot wound inside the house. Briana and Jeremy encountered Bernie, Briana’s stepfather, near the entrance of the subdivision as they were leaving the scene. Jeremy and Bernie exchanged gunfire, resulting in Jeremy’s death from gunshot wounds sustained during the altercation. Bernie was still on scene when officers arrived. He was taken into custody without incident. Detectives believe there was an argument between Bridget and Bernie that lead up to Bridget’s death. The specifics of the motive in the incident are still being investigated.
Original: (Lawrenceville, Ga., May 5, 2022) – At approximately 6:10 pm officers at the Bay Creek precinct responded to an aggravated domestic on Harbor Bay Dr. The call to 911 stated someone had been shot inside a residence.
When officers arrived, they located a deceased female in house on Bay Harbor Dr. and a male deceased laying outside of a vehicle further down the street. The caller to 911 had provided a description of a possible suspect. Arriving officers located a male matching the description in vicinity of the call. Homicide Detectives are on scene investigating and speaking to witnesses. The Crime Scene Unit is processing the scene for evidence. The incident is believed to be a domestic argument between the involved parties on scene. The names of the deceased are currently being withheld until next of kin is notified.
