HOMICIDE – MOUNTAIN DRIVE, STONE MOUNTAIN

UPDATE #1: The deceased has been identified as Leon Summers (age 23, Stone Mountain). 

During the course of this investigation, detectives arrested two suspects. Geno Hall (age 20, Stone Mountain) has been charged with Felony Murder, two counts of Aggravated Assault, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of Certain Crimes.  Myles Coston (age 19, Rex, GA) has been charged with Felony Murder, Aggravated Assault, Home Invasion, and Possession of a Firearm during the Commission of Certain Crimes.

Geno Hall was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail on April 27.

Myles Coston was arrested in Lamar County and is currently being held in their jail.

At this time, it appears as though the shooting victim (who sought treatment at Grady) acted in self-defense.

 

 

ORIGINAL: (Stone Mountain, Ga., Tuesday, April 25, 2023) – Gwinnett County Police detectives are investigating a double shooting that left one man injured and another man deceased.

Shortly before 11 pm on Monday, April 24, a man entered Grady Hospital in Atlanta with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound. The man stated that he was involved in a shooting at a home on Mountain Drive within the past couple of days. The man reported that there was possibly another shooting victim at the house.

Officers assigned to the South Precinct responded to the home and located a deceased man inside.

Detectives are in the process of canvassing the scene and trying to locate any witnesses who may have seen or heard the shooting or the events leading up to the incident.

At this time, the motive is unknown along with the identity of the deceased male.
