GWINNETT POLICE INVESTIGATE POSSIBLE MURDER SUICIDE IN DULUTH

(Duluth, Ga., Feb. 21, 2025) – Gwinnett County Police detectives are investigating the death of two individuals as a possible murder suicide.

Around 10:30pm on Feb. 20, uniform officers at the Central Precinct responded to 1655 Centerview Drive in reference to a welfare check.  The family members of one of the residents in the apartment stated they had not heard from their uncle in a few days and one of the family members received what they believed was a suicide note from their uncle.

Forced entry was made into the apartment where an adult female and an adult male were found deceased.   The Homicide Unit, Crime Scene Unit and Medical Examiners office responded to the scene.  The preliminary investigation reveals the female died by strangulation and the male died by hanging.  The Medical Examiner will conduct autopsies to determine the official cause of death.

At this time the investigation is still considered active, though no other parties are believed to be involved.  The suspect’s and victim’s names are being withheld until the next of kin can be notified for both.
