FIVE PEOPLE TRANSPORTED TO LOCAL HOSPITALS FOLLOWING EARLY MORNING LOGANVILLE HOUSE FIRE
Update #1: (Loganville, Ga., Apr 2, 2025) -According to Fire Investigators, the cause of this tragic fire remains undetermined as defined by NFPA 921. Fire Investigators were not able to rule out accidental sources in the area of origin. Our hearts go out to the family and the community during this difficult time.
Original: (Loganville, Ga., Mar. 29, 2025) - At 4:07 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of a house on fire on the 3800 block of Bay Cove Trail SE in Loganville. The caller informed call takers that he was in a bathroom with an adult female, and they were both becoming overcome with smoke.
Firefighters arrived at 4:16 a.m. and reported a working fire in a two-story, single-family dwelling on a basement. Fire crews said flames were visible on the first and second floors of the home. Using ladders, firefighters immediately entered the house through second-floor windows and the basement. Fire crews were able to locate two unresponsive adult victims and extricate them through a window at the front of the house. Medical teams standing by took over care of the victims. Additional arriving crews rapidly deployed multiple fire hoses to combat the flames. Firefighters extinguished the flames at 4:46 a.m. Utility crews responded to the incident to secure utility service safety concerns.
Medical crews transported five patients from this incident. Two adult patients were transported to local hospitals in critical condition. A third adult and two juveniles, who escaped the home before firefighters arrived, were transported to another local hospital in stable condition. Firefighters used electric fans to ventilate the house and operated atmospheric testing meters throughout the structure before being rotated through rehab and returning to service. Fire investigators on the scene said that the cause of this fire is under investigation.
EQUIPMENT AT THE SCENE INCLUDED: 5-Engines, 2-Ladder Trucks, 1-Squad, 5-Med Units, 3-Command Staff Vehicles, 1-Air & Light, 1-Fire Investigator, and 1-PIO.
