AFTERNOON HOTEL FIRE IN NORCROSS DISPLACES 50 PEOPLE
(Norcross, Ga., April 17, 2024) - At 4:53 p.m., firefighters responded to a report that the Inn Town Suites located at 6067 Buford Highway NW in Norcross was on fire. The caller stated that they observed fire on the bottom floor extending to nearby vegetation and the roof line of the building. The caller said that people were beginning to evacuate.
Firefighters arrived at 4:56 p.m. and reported a working fire on a two-three split-level hotel. Crews deployed multiple fire hoses to combat the flames and assisted with evacuating the hotel. Search teams concluded that everyone had safely escaped the building. Fire attack teams brought the flames under control at 5:32 p.m. Atlanta Gas Light and Georgia Power disconnected utility service to the affected hotel building.
No injuries were reported during this incident. The American Red Cross is working with hotel management to assist an estimated 50 persons who were displaced by the fire. All firefighters rotated through rehab before returning to service. Fire Investigators on the scene said that the cause of this fire is still under investigation.
