COMMERCIAL DELIVERY VEHICLE CRASHES INTO BUFORD HOME

 

(Buford, Ga., Sep. 3, 2024) - At 4:05 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle into a residence on the 5700 block of Tattersall Terrace NE in Buford. The caller informed 911 call takers that a delivery truck had run into a house, and the driver was lying on the ground.

Firefighters arrived at 4:09 p.m. to find one patient on the ground and a vehicle had crashed into a residence resulting in heavy damage to the structure. Crews immediately provided care and assessment to one patient while checking the scene for other injuries. There were residents inside the affected home that had sustained heavy damage to the front of the house. The Technical Rescue Team (TRT) assessed the damage to the home and determined that the vehicle had compromised its structural integrity. Those crews applied shoring to reinforce the compromised structure until the damage can be addressed by building specialists. A heavy-duty wrecker was used to remove the vehicle from the home.

One patient was transported from the scene to a local hospital in serious condition. There were no other reports of injuries on the scene. The cause of this accident is unknown.
