County offices closed September 27

Due to the impending inclement weather, all Gwinnett County Government offices — with the exception of those required for the comfort and safety of residents — will be closed Friday, September 27.

Courts: Gwinnett County Courts hearings and trials are canceled on Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27 due to inclement weather. All first appearance hearings scheduled to be heard at the Gwinnett County Detention Center will be held as scheduled.

Animal Welfare and Enforcement: The Return to Community Cat Program is closed Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27 due to inclement weather. Please note that confining cats in traps for the Return to Community Cat Program can be unsafe and hazardous, especially since they are unable to seek shelter from bad weather.

Gwinnett County Public Library: All Gwinnett County Public Library branches will be closed Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27. Open access will be canceled from Thursday, September 26 through the morning of Saturday, September 28. For library updates, visit GwinnettPL.org.

Senior Centers and Parks: All Health and Human Services senior centers will be closed on Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27, operating on the Gwinnett County Public School System closing schedule.

  • Norcross Senior Center
  • Snellville Satellite Senior Center

Events scheduled for Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27 may be canceled due to inclement weather.

All natural surface fields and trails will be closed Thursday, September 26 and Friday, September 27.

Tax Commissioner: All Gwinnett County Tax Commissioner offices will close early at 3:00pm on Thursday, September 26 and will be closed on Friday, September 27.

Transportation: Due to inclement weather, Ride Gwinnett will adjust its afternoon commuter and local route service for Thursday, September 26. There will be no Ride Gwinnett commuter, local, paratransit, or microtransit service Friday, September 27.

Ride Gwinnett will also run two Sweeper routes Thursday, September 26 from downtown Atlanta that service all three Park and Ride locations — Sugarloaf Mills, Buford/I-985, and Indian Trail — at the following intervals:

Trash and recycling: Due to the incoming inclement weather, unincorporated Gwinnett County residents may experience a delay of trash and recycling service Friday, September 27. Any delays should be communicated to the residents by the haulers. All Friday customers should be serviced no later than Saturday, September 28..
