In early October, Gwinnett Economic Development hosted seven Finnish companies during the group’s week-long visit to Atlanta. This was a unique opportunity for Gwinnett, as it was the only county the delegation met with, alongside a stop in the City of Peachtree Corners earlier in the week.

Throughout the week, Gwinnett showcased key demographic information and highlighted the county’s capacity to support diverse businesses seeking growth opportunities. Representatives from Gwinnett Technical College shared insights into the local workforce. Additionally, an update from the Georgia Ports Authority focused on trade routes and inland port progress, vital for fostering international business relationships. Scanfil, a Finnish company already established in Gwinnett, shared its success story, illustrating the positive impact of operating in the area.

The county meeting featured breakout sessions focusing on construction and healthcare. Local partners, including Piedmont Eastside, The VA Hospital, The Rowen Foundation, and Gwinnett Entrepreneur Center member Carter Construction, LLC engaged with the delegates to answer questions and offer insights into doing business in Gwinnett County and the metro-Atlanta region.

The Finland companies that participated are: Feicon, Hur, Bobi.com, TK Engineering, Lamit, Smart City Innovation Cluster, and VILPE.
