Infrastructure & Operations Division
The Infrastructure & Operations Divisions are responsible for delivering the technology foundations and shared services that support the County’s business operations.
ITS Infrastructure
The ITS Infrastructure Division manages and maintains the abundance of technologies that constitute the physical and virtual, network, compute, storage, telecom, and audio/visual capabilities that our business partners depend on. This division is comprised of the Enterprise Platforms, Network Services, and Technical Services teams.
Enterprise Platforms
The Enterprise Platforms team manages the county’s physical data centers, virtualization platforms, data backup network, network management, and the perimeter security defense systems and services. In addition, the team provides technical consulting and systems design for implementation, management, and operational support of network communication systems to modernize and streamline business operations.
Network Services
The Network Services team is responsible for the distributed network locations, including equipment installation, cabling, and complex network and telephone systems. The team manages the voice, video, and collaboration systems and supports all audio visual and presentation equipment deployed countywide.
Technical Services
The Technical Services team manages the Microsoft systems and on-premises (physical and virtual) server environments, while providing Azure system administration. This team also provides performance monitoring and alerting for all mission-critical platforms.
ITS Operations
The ITS Operations Division manages the procurement, receiving, inventory, design, configuration, deployment, maintenance, and retirement of the technology that supports business services, as well as provides daily customer support for user systems and peripherals. This division includes the Asset Management, Service Management, and End User Services teams.
Asset Management
The Asset Management team follows industry best practices to ensure the County’s technology assets, both hardware and software, are identified and accounted for on a continuous, real-time basis while identifying cost reduction opportunities throughout the assets' lifecycle. The team works closely with the ITS Financial Management Division to ensure the department collects and maintains accurate indirect cost allocations, software licensing, and contractual compliance.
Service Management
The Service Management team is customer focused and provides support and services that improve the end users computing experience. The team is comprised of two groups, Service Desk and Service Delivery. The Service Desk group is the point of contact for end user issues and requests, while the Service Delivery group is responsible for inventory management of technology assets.
End User Services
The End User Services team is responsible to deliver on site support to all Gwinnett County departments and partners. This team manages the end user compute environment to ensure that end user computing meets the needs of the business units.
