Work Release Program
The Comprehensive Correctional Complex contains 288 Work Release Program beds for criminal offenders and parents who fail to pay court-ordered child support. The Work Release Program provides semi-incarceration sentencing alternative to judges. This not only benefits the offenders, who we call residents, but their families and the community by allowing offenders to maintain regular employment while serving non-working hours in custody. Each resident is required to pay an administrative fee along with daily fees to offset the costs of the program in addition to any court ordered fines, probation fees, and child support payments.
Program Orientation
Residents are required to attend orientation sessions conducted by caseworkers upon their arrival. During orientation, they will receive education about the program and how it works as well as a handbook. Residents are expected to follow these rules or face consequences which could include returning before a judge. Caseworkers explain work schedules, program fees, acceptable items they can bring with them into the facility, and prohibited items not allowed (contraband). Residents will also be able to acquire a locker located in the lobby for a $10.00 deposit. Use of lockers will require $0.50 to lock contents inside (not provided). Lockers will be subject to random searches and seizures. Contraband is not allowed in lockers. Upon completing the program, residents who return their locker key will receive their deposit.
Work Release Program Fees
$125.00 Administrative Fee$16.00 Daily Fee
Work Release residents are expected to pay all program fees. Fees may be paid in the form of cash or money order. Receipts will be given to residents for all fees collected. Money orders must be made payable to the Work Release Program. When a resident makes a payment, they must ensure their receipt is filled out correctly before leaving the payment window. Please verify that the name is accurately stated, the amount is correct, and the purpose of the fees is made clear.
Residents may choose to pay for the following at the payment window:
- Admin/daily fees
- Restitution
- Probation
- Alimony
- Purge
- Child support
A resident can request a statement anytime Monday through Friday through the control room officer or their caseworker. Residents are expected to stay one week ahead of their fees.
Work Schedules
Work Release residents must give their caseworker(s) their current work schedule. If their work schedule changes, they must alert their caseworker right away. Failure to do so may result in not being released. On a case-by-case basis, some residents may be approved to work longer schedules, depending on their sentence. The caseworker will tell residents when they are allowed to go out to work and when they are expected to be back at the facility (their schedule). Failure to follow the schedules set up by the caseworker may result in a Disciplinary Report and/or an inability to work the following day(s).
