UPDATE – Wanted Person Located
UPDATE - (Lawrenceville, Georgia, May 9, 2013) Joseph Sivonda was taken into custody this morning. A team of Gwinnett County Police Department detectives, U.S. Marshals, and deputies from the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Unit located Sivonda at an apartment in Duluth. He was staying with Tiffany Martin (B/F, 30 years old), who has also been arrested and charged with hindering the apprehension of a felon. Sivonda is currently in custody at the Gwinnett County Detention Center without bond.
UPDATE - (Lawrenceville, Georgia, May 3, 2013) Joseph Sivonda is still at large. A more recent photo is attached. A tattoo of the word “India” can be seen at the base of Sivonda’s neck. A photo of a tattoo on his forearm is also attached; the tattoo reads “Joseph”. Detectives believe there may be additional victims who have not yet come forward. They would like to hear from anyone that has possibly been a victim. Anyone with information on Sivonda should call the Robbery Unit at 770-513-5300.
ORIGINAL RELEASE - (Lawrenceville, Georgia, May 2, 2013) Several media outlets inquired about Gwinnett Police SWAT team activity near Beaver Ridge Elementary School this morning. The activity was noticed as the SWAT team attempted to serve an arrest warrant at an apartment just behind the school (100 Castor Drive, unincorporated Norcross). The wanted suspect was not present and is still at large.
Please publish the following information. The wanted person is Joseph Tyler Sivonda, a 23 year old male. He is about 5’07” tall and about 130 lbs. His hair is believed to be shorter than in the attached photo. Sivonda is wanted by Gwinnett Police for two counts of armed robbery, two counts of aggravated sodomy, and two counts of rape. Additional charges are under investigation. Anyone with information on Sivonda is asked to call detectives with the GCPD Robbery Unit at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-557-TIPS (8477).
