Deceased female located in wooded area of Lawrenceville
(Monday, July 18, 2011) This press release concerns the missing person case of Dominique Leili (44 years old, W/F). Dominique, also known as Nique (pronounced like "Nikki"), was reported missing by her husband, Matthew Leili, on July 11, 2011. Matthew reported that Nique went missing on July 9, 2011, and had not been heard from since. Their residence is at 1915 Sidney Cove, in unincorporated Lawrenceville.
A detective was assigned the missing person case on July 12, 2011 and began investigating. There were no signs of foul play revealed during the investigation. On Friday, July 15, 2011, detectives met with Matthew Leili at his home. While speaking with detectives, Matthew told detectives that he had retained the services of an attorney. Detectives were not able to obtain statements from Matthew, Matthew's father-in-law (who was staying at the residence), or the couple's two daughters (12 years old and 9 years old). Nique's third daughter (19 years old, from a previous marriage), has been cooperating with the investigation.
On July 16, 2011, a search conducted by Nique's friends and family located a deceased female in a wooded area near Nique's home. The general physical description of the deceased person was a close match to Nique's description. An immediate identification could not be made due to the condition of the body. Today, dental records confirmed the body to be that of Dominique Leili.
We are not releasing the cause of death at this time, however, we are investigating this case as a homicide. There was some confusion over whether or not Matthew Leili was considered a suspect, and we can conclusively say at this time that he is a suspect. No charges have been made in this case. The investigation is ongoing.
