Welcome to Gwinnett County Human Resources
Gwinnett County Human Resources organizational structure consists of HR generalist teams, HRIS specialists, Benefits specialists, and an administrative support staff to provide exemplary quality services to our customers. Departmental responsibilities include:
- Manage day-to-day activities in areas of Recruitment and Selection, Employee Relations, Compensation, Position Classifications, Employee Records, Organizational Development, Benefits and Administration to enhance customer service and build business partner relationships with county departments
- Development and compliance of polices and procedures including the Merit System Rules and Regulations, Human Resources management policies, federal and state employment and labor laws, and all other policies deemed appropriate and necessary by the County Administrator and Board of Directors
- Prepare and oversee special projects, performance analysis and other various management reports, and analysis of statistical data
- Implement the Board of Commissioners' goals and objectives
The Human Resources Benefits team manages health and welfare plans, retirement plans, disability, and worker's compensation for all employees. The department consists of three generalist teams that are assigned several departments to support. They handle all HR needs in the areas of Recruitment and Selection, Employee Relations, Compensation, Employee Records, and Organizational Development for their assigned departments. The three generalist teams are supported by an administrative staff that focuses on building and maintaining the HR infrastructure, developing policies and procedures, managing HR programs, coordinating employee training, and providing clerical support.
