GCPD to Host Civilian Active Shooter Class - August 18, 6pm, GJAC
(Lawrenceville, Georgia) Over the past several months, the Gwinnett County Police Department has received several requests from residents and the media about a civilian active shooter class. In an effort to educate our community, we will be hosting a Civilian Active Shooter course on Thursday, August 18, at 6pm. The course will take place in the Gwinnett Justice and Administration auditorium located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville.
The course will be taught by the Crime Prevention Unit and will feature a curriculum guideline provided by Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training. No advanced sign-up is required. The course is open to everyone.
This course will be recorded by Gwinnett County Communications and will be available (at a later time) to those who are not able to attend. The program will appear on TVgwinnett, the county’s local government access cable channel, and on demand at www.tvgwinnett.com.
