Update #1, 12/22/2015, 7:45pm: Joshua Henry Harbin (age 30, Sugar Hill) has been arrested.

Shortly after publishing this original Media Release, several news outlets shared the details about this case with their audience.  The suspect heard about the case on the radio. 

Harbin then approached a citizen in Atlanta and told her to call police about his involvement in the bank robbery.  The Atlanta Police Department was notified and took custody of Harbin.  Harbin was transported to GCPD’s West Precinct to meet with the lead investigator. 

The suspect has been cooperative with the investigation.  Joshua Henry Harbin was transported to the Gwinnett County Jail and charged with one count of Robbery.  (Please contact the Gwinnett County Sheriff’s Office regarding booking information and photos.)

Original, 12/22/2015, 11:18am: (Buford, Georgia)  On Monday, December 21, shortly after 12:30pm, officers assigned to the North Precinct were dispatched to a bank robbery at the BB&T Bank located at 4394 Buford Drive in Buford.  When the officers arrived on scene, they met with bank employees who provided details about the crime.

The bank has two points of entry.  The suspect entered the bank from the door on the rear of the business facing Walgreens.  The suspect waited in line before approaching a teller.  He gave the teller a demand note demanding cash.  At the bottom of the note, the suspect wrote, “Merry Christmas.” 

After obtaining a small amount of cash, the suspect left the business through the rear door.

• Clothing:                    glasses, blue hat, black hoodie, blue jeans, white gloves with black tips
