GWINNETT OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT HOSTS PUBLIC MEETING FOR HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN

(Lawrenceville, Ga., Nov. 7, 2023) – The Gwinnett County Office of Emergency Management will conduct a public meeting on Nov. 13 at 10 a.m. for residents to learn about and share comments on the 2025 Multijurisdictional Hazard Mitigation Plan update.

Attendees will receive an overview of the plan update, the county’s identified hazards and current and future mitigation projects identified during the planning process to better prepare our community for hazards.

The plan covers Gwinnett’s 16 cities as well as unincorporated areas of the county, so all residents are encouraged to attend.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency requires updates to the plan every five years to ensure Gwinnett County is eligible for federal funding. The funding is used to address problems identified in the plan, including flooding.

The public meeting will be held in Conference Room B of the Gwinnett Justice and Administration Center, located at 75 Langley Drive in Lawrenceville. You do not need to RSVP to attend.
