Two Women Arrested After Punching DFCS Employee and Kidnapping Children

The Gwinnett County Police Department has arrested two women after they punched a DFCS employee and kidnapped two children during a court-mandated visitation at a trampoline park.

On November 8, officers responded to 5900 Sugarloaf Parkway after a DFCS employee contacted 911 to report the kidnapping. That employee told officers that she was at the location so that Starlita Moore could participate in a court-mandated visitation with her two young children. During the visitation, Starlita punched the DFCS employee in the face and grabbed the two children. Starlita’s 19-year-old daughter, Teisha Schulters, was also present and helped Starlita get the two children into a Chrysler 300 in the parking lot.

While Teisha was putting the children in the car, Starlita continued to assault the DFCS employee. Once the assault was over, Starlita and Teisha left with the two children. Investigators responded to the location and immediately alerted local law enforcement in neighboring jurisdictions. The Chrysler 300 was located by members of the Alabama State Patrol, who conducted a traffic stop on the car and recovered both children unharmed.

Starlita Moore and Teisha Schulters were both arrested on scene. Starlita was charged with two counts of kidnapping, interstate interference with custody, battery, simple battery, and cruelty to children in the 3rd degree. Teisha was charged with two counts of kidnapping and interstate interference with custody. Both children were placed in the custody of DFCS.
