(Buford, Ga., Sat. Jan. 04, 2025) – Gwinnett County Police detectives are investigating a shooting at the Mall of Georgia that left one person injured.

Shortly before 9:30 p.m. an officer working a security detail at the Mall of Georgia heard gunshots and immediately ran towards them. Officers quickly apprehended one subject who was attempting to flee the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital.

Detectives are in the process of canvassing the scene and trying to locate any witnesses who may have seen or heard the shooting.  CSI is on scene processing evidence. One person has been transported to Gwinnett County Police Headquarters for questioning.
