POLICE INVESTIGATING NORCROSS HOMICIDE

(Norcross, Ga., Dec. 21, 2024) – The Gwinnett County Police Department is investigating a shooting at a Norcross home that resulted in the death of a woman.

Shortly after 7:00 p.m., officers assigned to the West Precinct were dispatched to a “person shot” call at a home on Creeldale Drive in unincorporated Norcross. Through the use of a language interpretation service, the 911 call-taker learned that a woman was suffering from a gunshot injury at the home.

In addition to patrol officers, the Gwinnett County Fire Department also responded. Upon arrival, they determined that the woman was deceased. The officers secured the home and notified the Homicide and Crime Scene Units.

Detectives are in the process of interviewing witnesses who were home at the time of the shooting. At this time, no charges have been filed against the shooter. The victim is a Hispanic woman in her 30s. She was a resident of the home. The detectives will work closely with the Gwinnett County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the manner and cause of death.    

The victim’s name will be released following next-of-kin notification.
