UPDATE #1: The decedent has been identified as Jerimiah Lindsey (age 20, Suwanee). The other shooting victim has been identified as Douglas Ward (age 20, Lawrenceville).

ORIGINAL: (Lawrenceville, Ga., May. 27, 2023) – The Gwinnett County Police Department is currently investigating a double shooting that left one male deceased and another male injured.  

Just before 9:00pm, officers were dispatched to a “Shots Fired” call at the intersection of Valley Club Drive and Sugarloaf Parkway. While enroute to the scene, officers learned there were two shooting victims being transported to a local hospital. When officers arrived at the hospital, they located one deceased male and one male with serious injuries.

At this time, investigators know there were multiple vehicles involved in the shooting and are currently looking to identify and locate those vehicles.

GCPD Crime Scene Investigators arrived at the shooting location and processed the scene.

Investigators are currently exploring all motives, and canvassing the area for any security footage or anyone who may have witnessed the shooting.

The victims’ name will be withheld until next of kin is notified.
