Dekalb county school teacher arrested for child sex crimes

The Gwinnett County Police Department arrested a Dekalb County School teacher for multiple crimes against a child.

On September 3, detectives assigned to our Special Victims Unit were alerted about a possible adult male having sexual intercourse with a 14-year-old child. The victim’s mother discovered sexually explicit conversations between her child and an unknown male and contacted 911. Detectives were able to pose as the 14-year-old child and plan a meeting with the suspected adult male. Marcus Knight (age 49, Lawrenceville) arrived at the meeting location and was taken into custody without incident. During his arrest, Marcus was in possession of multiple high-level THC vape cartridges.

Marcus was transported to the Gwinnett County Jail, where he is being held without bond and is charged with aggravated child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, and obscene internet contact with a child. Additional charges might be forthcoming pending further investigation. The victim in this case was not a student of Marcus Knight.
