UPDATE #1: EARLY MORNING FIRE CLAIMS LIFE OF CHILD RULED HOMICIDE
Update: (Loganville, Ga., April 18, 2002) – The Gwinnett County Police Department has arrested a 15-year-old boy (from Loganville, Ga) in connection with the residential fire that left a 10-year-old female from Loganville dead. He is charged with: Malice and Felony Murder. The suspect is the victim’s brother and an additional Arson in the 1st Degree charge is expected.
Original:(Loganville, Ga., April 17, 2022) – The Gwinnett County Police Department responded along with Gwinnett County Fire to a reported residential fire at 4:57AM, within the 4400 block of Beaver Road SW, unincorporated Loganville. Once fire crews were able to successfully control the fire, a 10-year-old female victim was found deceased, inside the burned home. Gwinnett Fire Department Arson Investigators determined the fire was set intentionally.
Gwinnett County Police detectives were requested to the scene. At this time, it has been determined the fire was set intentionally by a sibling of the deceased victim. This is still an active investigation and is being treated as a Homicide. Gwinnett Police detectives are working closely with arson investigators throughout the duration of this investigation.
