(January 1, 2016, Lawrenceville, Georgia) Officers from the Gwinnett County Police Department responded to a person shot call located at 3100 Sweetwater Road at the Lake Sweetwater Apartments in unincorporated Lawrenceville at 143am.  Officers arrived at building 11 to find an unconscious black male (23 years old) lying on the ground.  Gwinnett County Fire Department personnel arrived on scene and transported the male to Gwinnett Medical Center Lawrenceville.  It was learned through the initial investigation that the male was attending a party when he was shot.  The male then fell roughly 10 to 15 feet from the balcony leading to the apartment to the ground below.  The male is currently in stable condition and speaking with investigators.  At this time there are no known suspects.  This is an active investigation and any witnesses are asked to call the Gwinnett County Criminal Investigations Division at 770-513-5300.
