The responding officers discovered a three vehicle accident at the scene, with one driver deceased as a result of the accident. The decedent, Pearl Biggers (91 y.o. female) was driving a white PT Cruiser north on S.R. 20. According to witnesses, the PT Cruiser ran a red light at the intersection of S.R. 20 and Webb Gin House Road. The PT Cruiser was struck on the side by a black Mercedes passenger car with a green light, which was turning left from Webb Gin House Road on to S.R. 20. This caused the PT Cruiser to cross the median into oncoming traffic on S.R. 20. The PT Cruiser struck a third vehicle (a silver Toyota Land Cruiser) head-on. The driver of the Land Cruiser was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the Mercedes was not injured.
