Gwinnett County, in partnership with the Georgia Department of Transportation, is hosting a public information open house for the proposed widening of State Route 124/Scenic Highway from north of the US 78/SR 10 intersection to north of Ronald Reagan Parkway.

The open house is Thursday, April 24 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Sunrise Baptist Church, located at 3000 Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville. Join us to learn more about the project and share your feedback.

The project aims to enhance vehicle and pedestrian safety, reduce congestion, and improve travel time. Currently, the roadway has a high traffic volume of 47,750 vehicles per day, congested intersections particularly at Ronald Reagan Parkway, and high crash rates that pose safety risks.

The proposed improvements include expanding SR 124 to six lanes with three in each direction and adding a 16-foot-wide raised median and urban border areas.
