County officials recently broke ground on the Dacula Park Activity Building expansion project. This project will convert the existing 7,440-square-foot building into a two-story, 34,000-square-foot community recre­ation center with a full-service senior wing. With a fo­cus on enhancing programming on the eastern side of Gwinnett County, the new facility will include a gym with an upper-level walking track, art and dance studios, 76 additional parking spaces, and more. The $12.8 mil­lion project is funded by the County's SPLOST program and Community Development Block Grant funds.
