Gwinnett County and the Georgia Department of Transportation have partnered to conduct a comprehensive study of Interstate 85 between I-285 and I-985, identifying 16 potential transportation projects that improve safety and mobility along the corridor.

Residents are invited to attend a public meeting to learn more about the study and share feedback on the proposed recommendations. Join the project team on:

  • Wednesday, April 30 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at George Pierce Park, located at 55 Buford Highway in Suwanee
  • Monday, May 5 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Lucky Shoals Park, located at 4651 Britt Road in Norcross
  • Wednesday, May 14 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Shorty Howell Park, located at 2750 Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth

The I-85 study area is approximately 18 miles long and primarily located within Gwinnett County, with a small portion in DeKalb County. The study evaluated several types of corridor improvements that address the travel needs of corridor users, including multimodal improvements and freight considerations to alleviate issues on the I-85 corridor.

The potential projects also aim to support Georgia’s economy and corridor communities.
