Contracts
To operate efficiently, Gwinnett County uses contracts to govern the purchase of goods and services. This link will take you to the current list of annual contracts showing our approved vendors and the terms of their contracts, along with the County departments that use these goods or services. The link also provides the name of our purchasing agent who oversees each contract.
We also publish current solicitations for bids and proposals on the website. To be placed on the bidders list for any solicitation, please contact the Purchasing Associate listed. It is your responsibility to have all applicable addenda before submitting a bid or proposal. The buyer contact as well as the opening date are listed on the page.
A formal Invitation to Bid solicitation is used when needs, terms, and conditions are clearly stated. Cost is the predominant factor for award when we seek goods and/or services through the bid process.
We use a Request for Proposal solicitation where needs, terms, and conditions are not yet clearly defined and a formal solicitation method is required. Often we are looking for solutions based on a firm's experience and expertise when we seek qualified firms to provide goods and/or services through the RFP process. We use a formal evaluation process and consider many factors in making an award.
Responses to bids and proposals and award tabulations/notices of award are posted on the web for approximately two weeks following the opening or award. Pricing is not public record for Proposals until after an award has been made. To obtain information on responses or awards after the 30-day time period ends, or for more information on bids and RFRs, please call the Purchasing office at 770.822.8720.
