Sugarloaf Parkway Extension Phase II
State Route 316 to Interstate 85
Project Description
This proposed section includes the construction of Sugarloaf Parkway Extension Phase II from State Route 20 (Buford Drive) to State Route 316 (University Parkway). This section of new limited access freeway has interchanges at Interstate 85, State Route 124 (Braselton Highway), Fence Road and State Route 316 (University Parkway). The project length is approximately 7 miles.
The proposed project would provide improved mobility between the northern part of the County (Buford/Sugar Hill / Suwanee area) and the eastern region of the County (State Route 316 / Dacula area) and thereby reduce traffic congestion created by commuter traffic during peak travel time. The Sugarloaf Parkway Extension project will enhance overall traffic movement in the area of Gwinnett county by providing much needed cross-county connectivity.
