Traffic Counts Report 2024
Published by March 1, 2025

This report is an alphabetical listing of permanent count stations that are repeatedly counted on an annual basis using electronic equipment. The Gwinnett County Department of Transportation has included all available traffic counts for the last six years from 2019 to 2024.

If a particular count location or year is missing, please call us at 770.822.7400, and we will attempt to include it in our next year’s update by March 1, 2026. Please visit our website then for new traffic count information.

Column Definitions

ROAD ON lists the road where the count station is located.

"BETWEEN" & "AND" columns list the two cross streets intersecting the main road between which the count station is located.

AGENCY designates the agency or entity that collected the data: Private contractor (P) retained by Gwinnett County Department of Transportation for the purpose.

DATE COUNTED shows the actual day on which the traffic counting started. Traffic counts are conducted for a 24-hour period.

DAY OF WEEK represents the actual day of the week on which traffic counting started.

EQUIPMENT represents the equipment used to collect data: Tube counter (T).

NBEB VOL represents the actual, unadjusted northbound or eastbound traffic volume count.

SBWB VOL represents the actual, unadjusted southbound or westbound traffic volume count.

PEAK HOUR 'RAW' VOL lists the highest total number of vehicles counted during any one-hour period during the 24-hour collection time

EST. PEAK HR VOL contains the estimated average peak hour traffic count for a given count station. It is calculated by applying the adjustment factors shown below according to the methodology used for calculating EST. ADT explained below.

D-FACTOR is the directional factor measured in percent. It is the percent of the peak hour volume that occurs in the direction of the higher volume traffic flow during the peak hour. For example, if the peak hour total (figure for the entire road) is 1,000 vehicles and the northbound flow of vehicles during that peak hour is 600, then the D Factor for that section of roadway would be 60 percent, found by dividing 600 by 1000.

TOTAL 'RAW' VOLUME column represents the actual, unadjusted 24-hour traffic volume counted on a given section of the road

EST. ADT contains the average daily traffic (ADT) count for that station number found by applying the adjustment factors shown below. To find EST. ADT for a particular count, the unadjusted amount in the "Total 'Raw' Volume" column is multiplied first by the adjustment factor for the month in which the count began. Then, the result is multiplied by the adjustment factor for the day of the week on which the count began.
