Citizens Police Academy
The Citizens Police Academy (CPA) is designed to educate citizens of Gwinnett about their police department and how officers enforce local and state laws. The goal of the CPA is to create and develop a growing nucleus of responsible, well informed citizens, who have the potential to influence public opinion concerning police practices and the delivery of services.
Explorer Post 1808
The Explorer Post 1808 program affords the youth an opportunity to better understand the role law enforcement plays in today’s society. The program serves as a community service organization for anyone interested in a law enforcement career.”
Youth Police Academy
The Youth Police Academy (YPA) is designed to educate 7th to 12th-grade students that live in Gwinnett County about the police department and how officers enforce local and state laws. The goal of the YPA is to create and develop a relationship with students and give them an opportunity to learn about the Gwinnett County Police Department’s role in the community and the delivery of services it provides. The YPA is open to all students that reside in Gwinnett County and that will be enrolled in middle school or high school as of August each year. Each student must successfully pass the application process to attend the YPA.
