Visit our newest attraction – the interactive STEAM (Science – Technology – Engineering – Arts- Math) Lab. Kids of all ages are invited to explore different themes each month through hands-on activities highlighting the application of scientific concepts found in daily life. 

Monthly themes include:

Named in memory of Brian Sterner, a local environmental educator, the Sterner Stream is a habitat where various turtles, fish, frogs, and aquatic macroinvertebrates swim and hide amongst a diverse collection of thriving wetland plants. 

Did you know this flowing ecosystem is sourced with reclaimed water from the neighboring F. Wayne Hill Water Resources Center? 

Step back in time as you take a journey to uncover the impact our ancestors had on the environment and prepare for an eco-friendly future! From early Gwinnett settlement to modern marvels of engineering, this travel-through-time experience is even a unique spot for an evening cocktail hour.

Located just a few hundred yards from GEHC, the Chesser-Williams House dates back to the 1850s. It was built in the I-house architectural style: two stories high, two rooms long, and one room deep. Significant features include stenciled paintings on the interior and exterior walls done by a traveling German painter in exchange for room and board. The venue is available for special events, as well, with a rustic outdoor setting that boasts an 1800s crib barn.
