The Emerging Technologies and Digital Transformation Division is responsible for the execution of new digital and technology programs for Information Technology Services. The division’s key objectives are to find, initiate, and drive groundbreaking new ways for the County to improve services through technological innovation. It supports big-picture thinking across digital/data-related and acts as a catalyst for change to support digital transformation and data-first decision-making across the organization. These goals are achieved through leading ideation sessions and helping teams understand their technology opportunities, articulating the business value of technology by defining how it applies to organizational goals and objectives, and aligning technology objectives and programs to County objectives and strategies, including an integrated citizen experience with a variety of technology platforms.

Geospatial Solutions

Geospatial Solutions supports and maintains the County’s major Geographic Information System through development and support of spatial data sets and insightful data-driven analytics for Gwinnett County services. This group creates maps and geo-enabled applications, which leads informed decision-making and provides data analytics in a wide range of areas for the County, including health, transportation, planning, business marketing, public safety, and water resource management.

Permitting and Regulatory Solutions

Permitting and Regulatory Solutions supports and maintains the Accela Civic platform. It also supports related systems, which enables the County to automate and track plan reviews, zone variance requests, and code enforcement as well as related systems to improve customer service satisfaction.

Public Safety Solutions

The Public Safety team supports and maintains all Gwinnett County public safety critical applications that help first responders and critical decision makers communicate and collaborate safely and securely. With responsibility over a broad range of applications that process the intake of 911 calls, dispatch the appropriate service unit, and efficiently process records and data. This team plans and manages the key software systems that maintain safety and security for the residents of Gwinnett County.

Web Solutions

The Web Solutions team is responsible for the development, maintenance, and technical support of the County’s website and Intranet. Website maintenance encompasses all the activities needed to guarantee the operational integrity of a site. The team monitors and implements standard theme and plugin updates routinely and creates and integrates custom posts to keep sites performing optimally. The team also provides County departments with custom built web-based business solutions.
