Community Risk Reduction Programs
The mission of Gwinnett Fire and Emergency Services is to save lives and protect property. Outside of putting out fires and responding to medical calls, we provide community education that helps achieve this goal.
We tailor our education programs to the current needs of our Gwinnett residents. By partnering with the community and providing these classes, we can create an atmosphere with increased knowledge that empowers and equips residents to make life saving decisions. The more our residents know, the better equipped they will be to prevent an incident from occurring.
To sign up for any of the programs below, visit Gwinnett County’s ZIP portal or call 678.518.4845 for more information.

Fire Station Tours
Our fire station tours are designed to familiarize children with firefighters and paramedics and the services we provide. During a visit, children will receive a tour of the fire station and learn more about our fire engines, ambulances, and what to do if there is a fire at home.
Need a fire station crew to visit your school or daycare? Contact us to get it on the schedule!
Mobile Fire Safety House
This unique class transports a fire safety house from site to site to assist in educating children and their parents about fire prevention and home safety. The Mobile Fire Safety House recreates a household environment where fire educators teach children how to identify fire hazards, eliminate potentially dangerous situations, and recognize emergency escape routes along with other best safety practices.

Residential
Home Safety Survey
A fire educator will come to your house and ensure your smoke alarms are installed and work correctly. If you don’t have a smoke or carbon monoxide alarm, we will provide and install one for free! Our educators will also share smoking, grilling, and cooking safety tips with you and your family. Additionally, we will review your escape plan to help ensure you and your loved ones are prepared in case of a fire.
Community Outreach
Car Seat
Keep your children safe when traveling in a vehicle. Participants will learn how to properly install a car seat in a vehicle to ensure the proper restraint of children. Other services include car seat safety classes and WIC car seat assistance.
Car seat checks are available throughout the county during scheduled events or by appointment at Fire Headquarters. Call 678.518.4845 to schedule an appointment.
CPR/AED /First Aid
We provide CPR/AED awareness to residents to help our community feel more comfortable responding to sudden cardiac arrest events. The most important factor when addressing sudden cardiac events is the immediate action of using an AED and CPR.
