What is the origin of the County's grants?
The County generally receives grants from the federal government, state government, foundations, and corporations.
Why apply for grants?
Receiving a grant allows you to carry out a specific project that might not be fundable using general fund money. This procedure also frees up general fund monies for other purposes and allows the County to address additional community needs.
Does Gwinnett County offer grant opportunities to individuals?
Most of the grants the County receives are designated for departments to carry out a specific task. However, some housing assistance funding is set aside specifically for eligible citizens. Can a person request grant funds to start or operate a for-profit business?
Gwinnett County does not provide grant funds to for-profit entities. Please visit the County’s Economic Development webpage for valuable resources readily available for your business.
