Gwinnett Animal Advisory Council
The Gwinnett Animal Advisory Council (GAAC) was established on March 4, 1993 as an advisory council for the purpose of studying, making recommendations, and offering professional advice to the Board of Commissioners on animal welfare and other animal-related issues in Gwinnett County.
The Council shall be composed of seven (7) members, as follows:
- The Chairwoman and the members of the Board of Commissioners shall each have one (1) appointment
- One (1) member shall represent the Gwinnett Municipal Association
- One (1) member shall represent the Gwinnett County Board of Health

Generally, meetings are held once per quarter-year. Meetings are held at the Gwinnett Animal Shelter, 844 Winder Highway Lawrenceville, Georgia 30046. For detailed information on meetings, please click the blue button above.
Must be residents of Gwinnett County.
To provide a channel for dialogue between citizens and the Board of Commissioners and bring about cooperation and coordination of resources to maximize animal welfare.
