Aquatic Center/Pool Rules
To create a safe and enjoyable experience for both patrons and staff, Parks and Recreation encourages patrons to read and abide by the following rules.
Admission
Patrons may have to wait or return when the pool reaches its capacity limit. Patrons must pay the daily admission fee to enter and reenter the facility and provide their proof of residency. Only patrons with swipe and swim fun cards may reenter the facility without paying again. Patrons must exit the facility within 15 minutes of closing time.
Attire
Patrons who enter the pool must wear appropriate swimwear. Children not potty trained must wear a swim diaper and plastic/vinyl cover under their swimwear.

Accessories/Toys
The facility offers U.S. Coast Guard-approved lifejackets and provides accommodations for individuals with disabilities. Lifeguards/staff may limit or restrict pool noodles, splash balls, and chairs when deemed necessary. Adults may use masks, snorkels, fins, and kickboards for lap swimming or training in the lap lanes only.

Health/Safety
The facility may close for up to 24 hours after a contamination. Outdoor pools will close for 30 minutes after the last sign of lightning or thunder or due to heavy rain.

|
Patrons must:
- Obey lifeguards/staff and whistle blasts
- One short whistle blast = attention
- One long whistle blast = exit pool
- Three blasts = emergency/exit pool
- Shower before entering and reentering the pool after using the restroom
- Must not enter the pool if they have an infectious or communicable disease, open/bandaged sores, blisters, ear/nasal discharge, or diarrhea (currently or within the last two weeks)
- Report accidents, incidents, and injuries to staff/lifeguards
- Consume food and beverages in the designated areas
- Dispose of trash in the designated receptacles
Children must:
- Have their diapers changed in the restrooms
- Be accompanied by an adult (at least 18 years old) in swimwear attire
- Ages 0 to 6 = one adult for every three children and within arm’s reach
- Ages 7 to 10 = one adult for every 10 children and poolside
- Any age who can’t swim or wear a lifejacket = within arm’s reach
Day care/school groups:
- Adults must explain and help enforce all pool rules
- Non-Gwinnett Resident groups (includes all adults and children within the group) may only visit after 4:00pm
- Children must be accompanied by an adult in the water during open swim and on the deck during adult swim, and must visit the bathroom and concessions one at a time or be accompanied by an adult as a group
- 1 – 10 children = one adult
- 11 – 20 children = two adults
- 21 – 30 children = three adults
- 31 – 40 children = four adults
- 41 – 50 children = five adults
- 51 – 60 children = six adults
Pools/Features
Patrons in lifejackets or float suits must remain in the shallow end. Patrons may forward jump from the poolside only.
Patrons must not:
- Dive in water less than nine feet deep
- Hang or sit on lane lines or lifelines
- Use the lap lanes except for lap swimming or training
- Use the starting blocks except for scheduled team practices or programs
Diving Boards
Patrons must:
- Only use the diving board if they can swim without assistance
- Only use the diving board one patron at a time
- Only bounce once on the diving board before diving
- Only front dive
- Exit the diving area immediately after diving
Patrons must not:
- Swim in the diving area while another patron uses the diving board
- Dive with any swimming accessories or gear
- Adjust the fulcrum
- Hang from the board
Lazy Rivers
Patrons must follow the direction of the current.
Waterslides
Patrons should not use the waterslide if they are pregnant, have a heart condition or back problems.
Patrons must:
- Only use the waterslide if they are at least 4 feet tall and can swim without assistance
- Only use the waterslide one patron at a time
- Only slide feet first on their backs or bottoms
- Keep their hands inside the slide
- Exit the splash area immediately after sliding
Patrons must not:
- Slide wearing swimwear that may scrape or damage the slide
- Slide with any swimming accessories or gear
- Attempt to slow down, stop, stand, kneel, or rotate their body on the slide

Parks and Recreation reserves the right to:
- Refuse admission due to capacity or when deemed necessary for health and safety reasons
- Address any behavior considered a health or safety risk or disturbance to others (patrons who violate the rules may lose swimming privileges or have to leave the premise without refund)
- Request swim tests when deemed necessary
- Limit or close any aquatic center/pool due to emergencies or unforeseen circumstances
- Not provide refunds due to inclement weather
