Key to the County Guidelines
The Key to the County is a symbol of civic recognition and gratitude bestowed upon individuals or organizations whose service to the public contributes to the common good of Gwinnett or is considered a historic achievement. The honor may also be presented to visiting dignitaries or a notable person or celebrity whose work, influence, or talent positively impacts Gwinnett County.
The Key to the County recognition is awarded at the sole discretion of the chairperson of the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners. The chairperson or their designee can only present the recognition.
The Key to the County is strictly a honorary and symbolic action and has no legal authority. Recipients of the honor are expected to exemplify excellence in service and represent Gwinnett County with integrity.
